Happy 31st!

Today is Dan's 31st Birthday so here is my chance to gush about him for a minute. We have been married now for 81/2 years and i am still learning a lot about him. But there are a few things that i have known for quite some time. One thing is that he is very unselfish (this took me a little while to fully realize). another thing is that he is not a complainer. Put the man in any situation and he is going to move ahead and make something happen. His coworkers came up with the nickname "freight train", and i interpret this as meaning he is going to go ahead full force and give it 110%, whatever "it" is. But - in keeping with the train analogy- he is no runaway train, the man's brain is working 24-7 and he really thinks about things and stays focused on what is most important (we leave the irrational behavior to me). This all ties in with another of his fascinating traits which is that once he has made up his mind about something there is no swaying him. Take our courtship for example. Once he and i had that "AHA!" moment that yes we should be dating, we are perfect for each other, he never looked back (lucky for me). Once that decision was made there was a driving force pushing us together (see freight train above) and we (or maybe it was just me) were over come with it. It is pretty cool in way. I am blessed that he fell for me. It still amazes me sometimes.

Spelling Bee Drop-out

Ok, so Spelling Bee's didn't officially exist where i grew up, but if they did i never would have made it past the first round. I am the worst speller ever! But don't worry i have plenty of excuses for this. The first one is that i grew up in England during those formative spelling years. You might say to yourself, "so what, you can't spell the word color properly, get over yourself". But this is where my second excuse comes into play: i was also being taught French in school at the same time. That means that i tend to accidentally add "aux" or "ough" not to mention lots of extra e's and u's. It's sad really, but what can you do. Not to mention the fact that i have Spell Check and my husband finds my mispelling to be an edearing quality. And this is all being said in an effort to excuse my future and inevitable misspellings. I used to put (sp?) by words i was unsure of but i will spare you.
